To our sponsors old and new,
In one of the marketing magazines I received recently, there was an article about change. Basically it mentioned that when people are fearful, sometimes they cling onto their old way of doing things because they remember it working in the past (or at least they believed that it worked in the past, because generally, the economy was better). It said that things change, and like all creatures we can either embrace the change, get creative and adapt, or risk extinction.
Well I do see that point. Without giving away my age, I can say that this isn't my first recession! My attitude is that tough times require tough thinking. Evaluation at this point is much more difficult, because you aren't comparing apples to apples when you say "I used this apple last year and it was good" and "I used this different apple this year and it was bad". It may not have been the fruit, it could have been the vast change in the climate - if you know what I mean. Sometimes we just have to figure out what makes sense.
We all have choices here. We all need to recognize that if we are going to stay in the game we have to keep playing and if we are going to sit on the sidelines, we could be benched for the season. It's time to raise the bar on creativity, think outside the box and work together like we never have before.
Here at The One, we faced some tough choices as well. A great deal of thought went into how to hold the line on cost to our sponsors, and yet make the improvements that not only keep us the leader in "Out of the box" marketing, but make us the most effective marketing method available.
As always, we are in it for you. We decided to go into this strong and committed to our current region, with the best DREAMBOOK we have ever produced. We wanted to be absolutely sure that evey bride would love it, use it and see your name repeatedly. We are developing a loyal following among many professionals that know how we bring them results, and wanted to bring those same, or better results to all of our new sponsors as well.
As always, we remain committed to you and to our brides. As my grandpa always said, "Our trials, handled with the grace and assistance of God, ultimately make us stronger." Through this year we will be encouraging our sponsors to find new ways of working together, new markets for their services, and generally new, (or just different) ways of doing business We've all heard the adage, "buy low, sell high". Sometimes a down economy is the best time to increase market share by keeping your name in the forefront and coming out the other end as a stronger player than ever before.
We look forward to traveling with you, through to the "other side" of this turbulence, when we look back on this time as survivors.
May God bless and keep you all safely under his care.
Cynthia
